Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes the north London club have to make a ‘tough decision’ and fire Unai Emery.

The Gunners were convincingly beaten 2-0 by Leicester on Saturday following second half goals from James Maddison and Jamie Vardy.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are now nine points clear of the Gunners in the race for the top four and Emery is under significant pressure to save his job.

Head of Football Raul Sanllehi and Technical Director watched on stoney-faced at the King Power Stadium and Wright implored their pair to act decisively ahead of the two-week international break.

He Tweeted: ‘One shot on target tonight!! Two wins in 10 in the league. No definitive style or plan. Negative goal difference. No improvement in the defence. Not creating anything. Why would Laca or Auba renew? Can’t blame them!

‘We have to make the tough decision Arsenal! It’s not getting better!’

While Arsenal continue to struggle, Leicester under Rodgers are thriving and the former Liverpool manager believes his team were well worth three points on Saturday.

He said: ‘This is a team that’s very focused, very good defensively, and I felt we controlled large parts of the game.

‘A great victory for us against players that can really hurt you. We were able to manage that threat and play some great football.

‘The way it’s been going for a period of time now, it’s nice because the players know they have the qualities to win any game against any opposition.

‘You’re playing against a top team with really good players, so you have to be patient but we showed real quality to break through. A very, very important three points.’
