Arsenal chiefs believe Thomas Tuchel could be the ideal replacement for Unai Emery, even though it’s unlikely he would be available before the end of the season.

The Paris Saint-Germain boss recently extended his contract with the Ligue 1 giants but his future is far from secure in the French capital.

Tuchel is in danger of being dismissed from his post if he fails to deliver in the Champions League again, with last season’s exit at the hands of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester United still a sore point.

With Mauricio Pochettino available after his sacking by Tottenham Hotspur, there is extra pressure on the former Borussia Dortmund boss to produce the goods.

However, should he lose his job, he may find a new home easily enough, according to France Football.

Arsenal believe his ‘modern approach’, ‘creative ideas’ and ‘ability to speak many languages’ would see him fit in well at the Emirates as they look to find Emery’s successor.

However, there are question marks over whether Arsenal would be able to wait until the end of the season to make such an appointment.

Interim manager Freddie Ljungberg has endured a tough start, drawing with Norwich and losing to Brighton in his opening games in charge, and if results don’t pick up Arsenal may be forced to act quickly.
