Mesut Ozil threw a strop on the sidelines after he was substituted early in Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

Freddie Ljungberg’s side were three goals down by half time following Kevin De Bruyne’s double and Raheem Sterling’s strike from close range.

Ozil had struggled to make an impact during the opening half and by the 59th minute Ljungberg had seen enough and opted to replace him with Emile Smith Rowe.

Arsenal’s highest earner trudged towards the sidelines after seeing his number held up and the boos from Arsenal’s supporters grew louder as the midfielder refused to break into a jog to get himself off the pitch.

But as he made his way towards Arsenal’s bench, Ozil turn his gloves into a ball and kicked them in anger.

The incident comes just a week after Ozil appeared to launch an angry rant at Alexandre Lacazette following Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton.
