Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to leave Arsenal in the summer, while the Premier League club are also braced for offers for Bernd Leno and Alexandre Lacazette.

Gabon superstar Aubameyang has developed into one of Arsenal’s most important players since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, scoring 57 goals in 92 appearances.

The 30-year-old was named Arsenal’s new captain in November following Granit Xhaka’s axing but is still being strongly linked with a summer move.

Aubameyang will have just a year remaining on his current contract come the end of the season and Arsenal, reluctant to lose him for nothing in 2021, may decide to sell.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal also expect to receive offers for goalkeeper Leno and striker Lacazette.

Leno has largely impressed at the Emirates following his £22.5m move from Bayer Leverkusen two years ago and it is claimed the Germany international is attracting ‘big interest’ ahead of the summer.

French forward Lacazette, meanwhile, wants to be playing Champions League football so will likely push for a move unless Arsenal somehow qualify for the competition.

Despite Aubameyang nearing the end of his contract, Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes his former club should keep hold of the Gabon international – even if it means losing him for free in 12 months’ time.

‘If I was Arsenal I would keep him and tell him to give us what they can next season, get us back in the Champions League and then you can go for free,’ Merson told Sky Sports.

‘It’s hard to buy goals and this guy is a natural goal-scorer. It’s hard to buy that.

‘I like [Gabriel] Martinelli, he’s a top player, but you’re getting 15-20 goals guaranteed with Aubameyang, that’s some doing for Martinelli.

‘I can’t talk highly enough of Martinelli. He’s 18 and playing in the best league in the world. I’m a big fan of his. He will be a superstar.’

Arsenal, who are currently tenth in the Premier League, face Newcastle United at the Emirates on Sunday.
