Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Wolves and Portugal forward Diogo Jota this summer, reports say.

Jota has thrived at Molineux following his move from Atletico Madrid in 2017, scoring at least ten goals every season since arriving in England.

The Portuguese star was a key part of Wolves’ Championship-winning team in 2017-18 and netted ten goals in his debut season in the Premier League.

Jota, 23, has continued to impress during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 15 goals to help Wolves climb to sixth in the Premier League and reach the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Mikel Arteta, who is preparing for his first full season as Arsenal manager, wants to sign at least one wide attacker this summer and the Daily Mail say Jota is a top target.

Jota scored back-to-back hat-tricks in the Europa League earlier in the season and his form has caught the attention of Arsenal, who are currently ninth in the English top-flight.

Arsenal boss Arteta, who is currently recovering from coronavirus, has also expressed interest in signing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.

The Ghanaian midfielder was part of the Atletico team that knocked Premier League leaders Liverpool out of the Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday night.

In Arteta’s first transfer window in charge of Arsenal, the Gunners signed defenders Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares.

Arsenal were due to face Brighton this weekend but all professional football in England has been suspended until at least April due to the coronavirus outbreak.
