Dick Advocaat has declared Feyenoord star Orkun Kokcu would fit in seamlessly at Arsenal amid reported transfer interest from the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta has identified the 19-year-old as the perfect addition to his squad and Arsenal are thought to be pushing to agree a deal with Feyenoord before the European Championships kick off this summer.

It was claimed Arsenal technical director Edu had already held talks with Feyenoord over the transfer and head coach Advocaat has now responded to the transfer speculation.

‘It seems that what I read is true. But no one has yet come to Feyenoord [to make an offer or hold talks],’ Advocaat told Fox Sports.

Asked if he felt Kokcu could adapt to football at Arsenal, Advocaat replied: ‘I think he fits everywhere.’

Arteta is keen to offload several members of his squad to seal the signing of Kokcu.

Feyenoord value him at around £23million and Arteta is keen to avoid a repeat of the winter window when transfer funds were limited.

Failing to qualify for the Champions League would have a big effect on Arsenal’s summer transfer business, but three Premier League wins in a row has given new hope that the Gunners may nick a spot in the tournament.

Arsenal are currently ninth in the table, with eight points between the Gunners and Chelsea, who occupy fourth place.
