Arsenal have begun talks with Valencia over a deal for Rodrigo Moreno, according to reports.

The Gunners face the prospect of losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.

And the club are already preparing in the event that they receive an acceptable offer for the striker this summer.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal’s hierarchy to sign a new attacker at the end of the season.

And now the Gunners have held initial negotiations with Valencia over Rodrigo’s potential transfer.

The report claims that Valencia are willing to sell Rodrigo.

But the Spanish club are demanding a £50 million transfer fee, plus add-ons.

The 29-year-old forward has scored five goals and registered 11 assists in 28 appearances this season.

Barcelona were looking to sign Rodrigo in the January transfer window but were unwilling to meet Valencia’s asking price.

Rodrigo has a £106m release clause in his current deal with Valencia.
