Arsenal are considering moves for three La Liga players this summer, targeting defender Unai Nunez and midfielders Carlos Soler and Marc Roca, according to reports in Spain.

Mikel Arteta is expected to undertake a substantial rebuilding job in the next transfer window, with a number of players expected to come and go from the Emirates.

The Spanish manager is looking to his home country for reinforcements and believes Athletic Bilbao’s Nunez, Valencia’s Soler and Espanyol’s Roca could all bring something to his squad in north London.

23-year-old Nunez is a centre-back for Bilbao that has turned in some impressive performances over the last three seasons, but is not a guaranteed starter for the club.

However, he has done enough to earn a full cap for the Spain national team, making his debut in September last year and he is seen as a potential bargain as he has a release clause of just €30m (£26m), which the Gunners are willing to meet.

They may face competition from a range of clubs, though, with Man City, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich all reportedly interested, while Bilbao have offered him a new deal to stay where he is, according to Spanish publication Deia.

Valencia midfielder Soler has a much higher release clause of €150m (£132m), but his club are willing to let him go for around €40m (£35m) in a bid to balance the books, reports La Razon.

The 23-year-old has been a regular in the Valencia side since making his debut in December 2016, racking up 141 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.

He has played 20 times for Spain’s Under-21 side and former Valencia star Gaizka Mendieta has described him as a ‘great talent’.

Yet another 23-year-old, Roca also has a price tag of around €40m (£35m), but Arsenal would be able to get him for much less than that if Espanyol were to be relegated from La Liga.

The Barcelona-based club are bottom of the table and look set for relegation if the season is completed after the coronavirus hiatus.

Roca won the European Under-21 Championship with Spain last year, starting the final against Germany in central midfield alongside Napoli star Fabian Ruiz.

Reports suggest Arsenal have already tested the waters with an offer for Roca.
