Nabil Fekir wants to stay at Real Betis despite Arsenal registering their interest, according to reports in Spain.

The 26-year-old came close to joining Liverpool in a £53 million deal in 2018 before the move was called off.

Fekir was then sold by Lyon to Real Betis last summer and the France international has made an immediate impact at the Spanish club with seven goals and six assists in 22 La Liga appearances so far this season.

Last month, reports claimed that Arsenal had opened talks with Betis over a potential deal for Fekir.

But according to Marca, Fekir has told Betis that he intends to remain at the club, despite attracting interest from several other teams.

AC Milan and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the midfielder.

Speaking earlier this week, Betis’ president, Angel Haro, insisted that he had no plans to sell Fekir.

‘Fekir is very satisfied with his stay in Seville, happy with the team and wants to continue. Our idea is to keep him on the team,’ he said.

‘He is a high-quality player and from there we will see.

‘We don’t have any plans to sell this player.’
