Juventus legend Alessio Tacchinardi has urged Maurizio Sarri to sell former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey in order to bring Manchester United’s Paul Pogba back to the club.

Wales international Ramsey ended his 11-year spell at Arsenal by joining Juventus last summer and had begun to impress for the Italian giants before the season was suspended due to coronavirus.

But the 29-year-old is still yet to cement a place in Juve’s starting XI and Tacchinardi says he and Adrien Rabiot should be sacrificed if the club are given the chance to re-sign Pogba.

French World Cup winner Pogba won four Serie A titles during his first spell at Juventus and has been heavily linked with a return to Turin ahead of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Tacchinardi said: ‘In order to get Paul Pogba back, I would let Rabiot and Ramsey go, even if the Welshman did show a few signs of life in the last few games.’

Juventus are also reportedly considering offering Miralem Pjanic to Barcelona in a bid to sign Brazil midfielder Arthur.

On the proposed summer deal, Juventus hero Tacchinardi added: ‘I have no doubts that for Maurizio Sarri’s style of football, he should hand the reins of the midfield to Rodrigo Bentancur.

‘The Uruguayan is made of strong stuff, he has charisma, is always in the right place at the right time, keeps it simple and knows when to pass or pummel.

‘He’s not Andrea Pirlo, but then I don’t think Sarri would want a player like that in front of the defence.’

Pjanic has also been offered to Premier League club Chelsea in a potential swap deal involving Jorginho but Frank Lampard is not believed to be interested in the Bosnian.
