Victor Osimhen’s suitors have been warned they will not be able to sign the Nigeria international on the cheap this summer by Lille owner  Gerard Lopez.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1 and has attracted interest from a number of heavyweight Premier League clubs, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Lille have earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most forward thinking clubs in recent years and have sold a number of players for enormous profits, including the likes of Nicolas Pepe who joined Arsenal last summer for a club-record £72million fee.

The coronavirus crisis is certain to have a major impact on this summer’s transfer market, but Lopez insists his club will not be bullied into selling their prize asset for less than his market value.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘There are multiple offers. We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window.

‘There is a wide array [this summer] and I wouldn’t want to give the names of the clubs who are bidding but what I can tell you is that there are multiple [offers]. There are three championships that have clubs that have bid for him.

‘I am not being a sales guy because last year people didn’t believe that we had the offers we had with [Nicolas] Pepe and it turns out we had multiple of them.

‘Let me tell you with Osimhen, it is the same thing, whatever number you heard, the high number I have read is very much on the money of the offers that we have received. That’s where we are.’

Lille are also fending off interest in their Brazilian centre-half Gabriel who has been attracting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea and Lopez revealed last month that the 22-year-old is ready for a move to a bigger club.

He said: ‘It’s true that he would like to go and try something else out. We haven’t taken that decision yet, but he’s received a number of offers. I feel he’s closer to one club than others, but nothing’s done yet so we’ll see.

‘I feel he is among the top five dominant central defenders in Europe right now. His statistics, which aren’t well covered outside of France, shows that his percentage for winning duels is pretty unheard of in a league that’s extremely physical.’
