Arsenal are prepared to cash in on midfielders Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira this summer, according to reports.

The duo are regulars in Mikel Arteta’s side, but have been linked with moves away this season.

Torreira has not played as much as he would like while Xhaka has endured a turbulent season ever since an ugly confrontation with Arsenal fans last October.

Xhaka had the captaincy stripped from him and could have switched clubs in January, but was eventually welcomed back into the side.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims Arsenal are open to selling the midfielders, but the Gunners are not confident there will be any suitable offers.

Clubs are struggling to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the financial woes are expected to have a huge impact on the summer transfer window.

Torreira has been repeatedly linked with a return to Serie A and the 24-year-old has admitted he would love to play in Italy again one day.

Xhaka was eyeing a move back to Germany in January and is set for a spell in the treatment room after Arsenal’s nightmare return to action.

Manchester City mauled the Gunners 3-0 at a crowd-less Etihad, with Xhaka going down injured after just six minutes.

The 27-year-old was taken off on a stretcher after appearing to twist his ankle and was replaced by Dani Ceballos.

Torreira was not playing as he continues to recover from injury, as Arsenal missed the chance to make up ground in their bid to claim a Champions League spot.

The Gunners are away from home again on Saturday when they take on relegation battlers Brighton.
