Real Madrid, Barcelona and Leicester City are reportedly among the clubs interested in Matteo Guendouzi and are monitoring his situation at Arsenal closely.

The 21-year-old grabbed Neal Maupay by the neck in retaliation to the striker’s challenge on Bernd Leno after the Gunners’ 2-1 loss to Brighton on Saturday.

The Daily Mail claim that the £40,000-a-week midfielder taunted Seagulls players about the amount of money he earns compared to them and Mikel Arteta is willing to listen to offers for him this summer.

And according to Le 10 Sport, Guendouzi has attracted interest from Madrid, Barca and Leicester.

The French publication report that Zinedine Zidane, who is known for his emphasis on recruiting young, promising talent, is said to ‘love him very much’.

Guendouzi, who signed from Ligue 2 side Lorient in 2018 for £7 million, has just two years left on his contract at the Emirates.

The midfielder was previously dropped from the Arsenal squad in February for clashing with Arteta and members of his coaching staff during their Dubai training camp.

The Frenchman is one of a number of first-team players that the Gunners are yet to tie down to long-term deals.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Bukayo Saka’s contracts are all due to expire next summer, with no decision yet to be reached on their futures.

However, on Tuesday, the club confirmed news deals for Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares, David Luiz and Dani Ceballos.

Mari and Cedric have both signed long-term deals, while Ceballos’ loan move from Real Madrid has been extended until the end of the season.

Brazilian Luiz, who signed from Chelsea last summer, has agreed to a new one-year contract.
