Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser looks set to turn down a short-term contract extension and will become a free agent on July 1, according to reports.

The Scotland international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Vitality Stadium this summer as he is yet to sign a new deal.

Fraser’s contract is due to expire on June 30 and according to The Sun, he will reject a new proposal to keep him at the club until the end of the season.

With the Premier League set to resume next week, the 26-year-old would only be eligible to play in Bournemouth’s first two games, against Crystal Palace and Wolves, after which he would be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

However, due to player registration rules, Fraser would be ineligible to play for another club this season.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with a move for Fraser, but he is reportedly not ‘high up’ on their priority lists for the next window.

Frank Lampard also gave the green light to sign the Cherries forward in January, but that request was denied by the board.

With free transfers and loan deals looking likely to be the order of business for a number of cash-strapped clubs, the experienced winger is a smart option.

Palace and Watford are the other Premier League sides credited with an interest in signing the player.
