Chelsea are now resigned to losing Willian this summer and the club expect the Brazilian to complete a free transfer to rivals Arsenal after Saturday’s FA Cup final, according to reports.

The 32-year-old signed a short-term deal in order to complete the league season at Stamford Bridge but discussions over a long-term solution to his future at the club.

Willian had been happy to stay in west London but he was unimpressed with the club’s offer of a two-year deal.

His representatives believe he deserves a three-year extension but that would go against Chelsea’s policy, which they’d already compromised in their two-year offer to Willian.

Chelsea have already allowed Pedro to leave the club, while Hakim Ziyech is set to arrive from Ajax.

That will further limit Willian’s opportunities and though his form has been good since the resumption of the Premier League, the Guardian claim Chelsea will not grant him a three-year deal.

The club therefore expect him to join Arsenal on a free, as the Gunners are facing a cash-strapped summer.

Ironically, Willian’s final game for the club could come against the Gunners as the Blues take on Mikel Arteta’s side in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Willian missed the 2-0 win against Wolves on the final day of the season but he’s expected to prove his fitness in time to face the Gunners.
