Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Ben Chilwell and James Maddison are both struggling to prove their fitness in time for the Foxes’ clash against Arsenal.

The Foxes got back to winning ways with a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, which was the club’s first three points since Project Restart.

Their poor form has seen the club dragged back into the race for the top four and they face in-form Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday.

Maddison missed Leicester’s FA Cup defeat to Chelsea last week through injury but Chilwell started against the Eagles on Saturday.

However, Rodgers has confirmed both players are doubts for the trip to north London.

‘We’ve got doubts over James Maddison and Ben Chilwell. They could be the two who could struggle,’ said Rodgers.

‘We just have to wait and see. Ben’s (injury) is at the bottom of his foot, it’s giving him pain. We’ll see what the specialist says, sometimes you can play through it.’

Leicester’s recent form has led to some suggesting the Foxes need to ‘rebuild’ this summer.

However, Rodgers insists the club should be proud of their early season form and he insists they remain in a fantastic position.

‘What the players have done to this point is remarkable,’ Rodgers added. ‘To be producing that level of consistency – and we have had bumps – the players have been brilliant up to this point.

‘The league is so competitive, not just with the top clubs. For us to be in amongst it, is very good’.
