Pep Guardiola has been given £150million to spend this summer and is prioritising the addition of a centre-back and left-back, reports say.

Manchester City have been well off the pace set by Liverpool this season and the Reds could still set a record points tally.

Guardiola celebrated City’s successful appeal against their two-year ban from the Champions League on Monday and he can now start finalising his transfer plans.

There will be no issue attracting big names with their Champions League spot secured and the Guardian claim City chiefs have handed Guardiola a £150m transfer kitty.

City’s main objective next season will be to reclaim the Premier League title from Liverpool and Guardiola has several marquee signings in mind.

Bayern Munich star David Alaba is the priority target, but the Daily Mail claim Guardiola also wants to sign Valencia winger Ferran Torres and Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been heavily linked with Torres, who has gone from strength to strength as a mainstay in Valencia’s side.

Torres is still only 20 years old and has attracted interest from Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.

The forward has a £92m release clause, but Valencia are thought to be interested in cashing in on Torres for a lower price.

Koulibaly has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and Liverpool were the latest side said to be tracking his progress.

The Reds are on the hunt for the perfect partner for Virgil van Dijk, but City have suffered massively at the back this season.

A long-term injury to Aymeric Laporte turned out to be a huge blow after City decided against bringing in a direct replacement for Vincent Kompany last summer.

Guardiola is also keen on signing a new striker and Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez is high on his wishlist.

Martinez, 22, was expected to join Barcelona this summer, but the Catalan giants are struggling to meet Inter’s demands and the club’s financial issues have been made even worse by the coronavirus pandemic.
