Mikel Arteta is prepared to sell nine Arsenal players in a bid to raise transfer funds, reports say.

The Arsenal boss had planned a major rebuild of his squad this summer but the club’s finances have taken a serious hit during the coronavirus pandemic.

Arteta must sell to go after his top targets and the Daily Mail claim the head coach has earmarked nine players he would be willing to let go this summer.

Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette headline the long list of potential departures with Sokratis, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Sead Kolasinac, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding also in the shop window.

Arsenal could hope for big sums for right-back Bellerin and striker Lacazette and the club will accept any ‘sizeable’ bids that come in for the duo.

Bellerin has long been linked with a return to Spain, while Lacazette has been tipped to leave the club after coming in and out of the side this season.

Arteta would also like to offload Mesut Ozil, but the German’s agent has already insisted Arsenal’s top earner is not going anywhere this summer.

Arsenal have drawn up a long list of targets, but Arteta is keen to land his top targets which includes Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Gunners are also in talks with former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho and have a long-standing interest in Chelsea forward Willian.

A new centre-back is high on Arteta’s wish list and the club are keen to agree another loan deal for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished Arsenal’s season as their top scorer and ended his personal campaign by firing the Gunners to their 14th FA Cup trophy.

Arteta is desperate for Arsenal to come to terms with Aubameyang over a new deal, but the Gabon international wants to wait to see what transfer business the London club will do before making a decision on his future.
