Arsenal will announce the signing of ex-Chelsea winger Willian on a three-year deal this weekend.

The 32-year-old confirmed his departure from Stamford Bridge last week, bringing to an end a seven-year stay with the Blues.

Willian had been keen to stay at Chelsea but the club were unwilling to hand him the three-year deal he craved. which convinced the Brazilian that it was best to part ways.

Arsenal are cash-strapped after finishing outside the top four for the fourth season in a row and the club announced 55 redundancies this week in a bid to balance the books.

However, signing Willian on a free was considered shrew business and the Brazilian will take a pay cut to join the Gunners, as they’re willing to give him the three-yearl deal he sought.

Willian had offers from David Beckham’s Inter Miami as well as a number of proposals from clubs across Europe.

The Telegraph claim the most interesting bid came from Barcelona, who have long tracked the right winger.

However, Willian is happy in London and didn’t want to uproot his young family.

Once Willian is through the door, Mikel Arteta will seek to raise funds by offloading a number of unwanted players at the Emirates.

Mesut Ozil, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matteo Guendouzi, Rob Holding and Sead Kolasinac have all been put up for sale, while the club will consider offers for Alexandre Lacazette, Lucas Torreira and Reiss Nelson.
