Arsenal hope to raise as much as £40million through the sale of midfielder Matteo Guendouzi this summer.

The Frenchman is deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates after a falling out with manager Mikel Arteta.

The midfielder hasn’t featured for the club since a 2-1 defeat to Brighton in July, in which he grabbed Neal Maupay by the throat and reportedly mocked the salaries of Brighton players.

Guendouzi was subsequently banned from first team training and Arteta is happy to offload the midfielder, despite being an admirer of his.

Despite failing to tie down a first team spot with the Gunners, Guendouzi has attracted interest from La Liga giants Barcelona.

However, Football.London claim that Guendouzi is now attracting interest from PSG and the French club are now considering a move for the 21-year-old.

Despite the interest in Guendouzi, a stumbling block may by the Gunners’ valuation of the Frenchman.

Arsenal reportedly want £40m for Guendouzi, which is significantly more than the £5m they paid Lorient for him in 2018.

The Gunners offered £22m and Guendouzi in a bid for Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey last month but the Spanish side rejected the offer.

Given Partey has a £45m release clause in his contract, that offer would value Guendouzi at around £23m but reports suggest that Arsenal would want a bigger upfront fee to sell him outright.
