Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones says his side know exactly what to expect from Arsenal in their Carabao Cup fourth round clash on Thursday night at Anfield.

The Reds beat the Gunners 3-1 in the Premier League on Monday night, despite falling behind to an Alexandre Lacazette goal in the first half.

The sides will be much changed for the Carabao Cup contest, with Jones and other youngsters such as Harvey Elliott and Neco Williams likely to come into the side and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta set to mix things up as well.

Despite this, Jones reckons the Premier League champions know what they are going to get from Arsenal and will be well prepared to deal with it.

‘I think they’ve got a point to prove after the last game that we had against them in the Premier League,’ Jones told the official Liverpool website.

‘We also had a point to prove because they beat us in the Community Shield, so we showed what a great team we are and we came away with a win.

‘I don’t think they’ll be happy so as I said they’ll have a point to prove and have got things to put right.

‘They’re a strong team and they’ll give it 100 per cent and come out fighting, but I think we’re definitely prepared and know what they’re going to do. We know it’s going to be a difficult game, but the boys are excited and we can’t wait for the game to get started.’

Jones is pushing for more regular appearances in the first team as a consistent performer in the cup competitions and just an occasional performer in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old is enjoying the chances he is getting to show his stuff, which he did once again in the last round, scoring twice in the 7-2 rout of Lincoln City.
