Gilberto Silva has talked up the possibility of Arsenal signing Aston Villa’s ‘amazing’ captain Jack Grealish.

The 25-year-old played a pivotal role in Villa’s 3-0 demolition of the Gunners last weekend.

Grealish shrugged off Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin with ease to set up team-mate Ollie Watkins for his second goal of the night as Dean Smith’s side came away from the Emirates with a surprise victory.

The midfielder – who was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United back in the summer – has registered four goals and five assists in the Premier League this season.

And Arsenal Invincible Silva feels his former side missed a trick by not previously going in for the England international, and admitted he could be ‘somebody for the future’ at the north London club.

‘Grealish, amazing,’ Silva told The Invisible Wall Show. ‘It seems like he could be a player that Arsenal missed.

‘With his ability, he was one of the guys in the middle who can play beautiful football.

‘He controls the ball, assists and can score goals.

‘He is slightly different from Dennis Bergkamp, but he could be somebody for the future at Arsenal.’

The Gunners have scored just nine goals in their opening eight league games this season with Mikel Arteta’s side struggling to create chances.

After missing out on Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar in the summer, reports claim an attack-minded midfielder is still at the top of the Spanish boss’ transfer wishlist.
