Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is ‘confident’ he will return quickly from his injury, according to reports.

The 27-year-old was forced off at half time in Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa last Sunday due to a thigh problem.

Partey was due to link up with Ghana during the international break but he has remained at Arsenal for further tests and treatment.

According to Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts, a source close to Partey claims the midfielder is ‘feeling pretty confident’ that is injury is only minor and that he will be back ‘pretty soon’.

Arsenal’s first game back after the international break is their fixture against Leeds United in the Premier League next Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side will then face Molde in the Europa League on November 26.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged the Gunners to sign Leicester City’s Wilfried Ndidi to help Partey flourish.

‘You could say, ok if Thomas Partey is going to move a bit further forward, go out and get Ndidi to sit in there,’ Campbell told Highbury Squad.

‘No problem, but it just depends, you can either get an [Houssem] Aouar who gets further forward, or you get an Ndidi type so that Partey can do box-to-box.’
