William Gallas believes the Premier League will be won by a London club this season, although that will not be Arsenal.

The former Gunners, Chelsea and Tottenham defender has seen enough football this season to be convinced that it will be either the Blues or Spurs who will lift the trophy at the end of the campaign.

Tottenham are currently top of the table with Chelsea sitting third and defending champions Liverpool in between the clubs from the capital.

It was after watching the latest round of Premier League fixtures that Gallas became sure the title was heading back to London, specifically after seeing Tottenham beat Manchester City 1-0.

This result confirms what I said a few weeks ago. It’s a London team which will win the Premier League this year, the Frenchman wrote on Instagram.

‘After seeing Chelsea Arsenal and Tottenham played, I already know that it won’t be Arsenal who will win the Premier League.’

Spurs and Chelsea meet in a huge contest on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge and Gallas is expecting a great contest, although admits that Tottenham will be weakened by the injury suffered by Toby Alderweireld at the weekend.

A muscle strain will keep the Belgian out for at least the next two weeks.

‘ I look forward to next weekend to see Chelsea against Tottenham,’ Gallas wrote on Instagram. ‘I already regret the injury of Alderweireld, it’s the boss of Tottenham’s defence.

‘Tottenham will be decrease a bit but you know what it’s still a big London derby and [Jose] Mourinho is Back to Stamford bridge.’

Spurs and Chelsea have certainly announced themselves as title contenders, but Liverpool remain favourites to win the title for a second time, while Manchester City are still a shorter price than the London clubs with the bookmakers.

Pep Guardiola’s side are 13th in the table after defeat to Spurs and already eight points behind the league leaders.
