Paul Merson admits he’s filled with ‘dread’ before Arsenal’s clash with Tottenham on Sunday and says he can’t see how Mikel Arteta’s side can beat Jose Mourinho’s men.

The Gunners have won just four of their opening 10 Premier League games this season and have registered just one point from their last three matches.

Spurs, meanwhile, currently sit top of the table after a strong start with 21 points from their first 10 league fixtures.

Arsenal travel to their rivals on Sunday for the first north London derby of the season, and Merson admits he is worried for his former club.

‘It’s an easy touch at the moment, I worry for them [Arsenal] tomorrow,’ Merson told Sky Sports.

‘I know what’s going to happen tomorrow, I’ll tell you what will happen, Arsenal will have the ball, they’ll pass it around and pass it around, won’t really hurt Tottenham, then Harry Kane will get the ball, Son will make a run, he’ll be in, they’ll score and they’ll win the football match.

‘I dread this football match tomorrow. I dread it. I just can’t see how Arsenal can possibly win this game tomorrow. I can’t see how they win it.

‘Unless, they do what Tottenham do and they all sit back with 10 men behind the ball.’

Merson also believes that Arsenal have suffered due to the drop in performances from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Willian.

‘I worry for Arsenal. I just think they’ve stood still,’ said Merson.

‘When he first got in, Mikel Arteta, I just feel he’s changing the team too many times.

‘When you’re a manager at a top club, and they are a top club and they’ve got some top players, you need your top players to perform, let’s be honest.

‘I’ll name two players straight away – Aubameyang and Willian have not come to the party, they’ve not turned up at all.

‘If you’re a manager you need those two firing on all cylinders straight away.

‘I just think at the moment they are an easy touch. It was summed up last weekend, they played Wolves at home and Wolves experimented [with their formation].’
