Arsenal have issued injury updates on both Dani Ceballos and Pablo Mari, with the former nearing a return to fitness, while the latter is a bit further away form a return.

The Gunners were in Premier League action on Monday night, beating Newcastle United 3-0 at the Emirates and they are back out in the FA Cup at Southampton on Saturday, before repeating the fixture in the Premier League just three days later.

It is an intense schedule at the moment and Mikel Arteta will be delighted to have Ceballos coming back into the fold after struggling with a calf injury.

The club confirmed that he was only left out of the Newcastle game as a precaution due to a tight calf and he has a chance of playing on Saturday.

The Spaniard, who has made 16 Premier Legaue appearances this season, will face a fitness test before the FA Cup tie, but should certainly be fit for the next league outing if he does not make the weekend.

Pablo Mari will not be playing in the FA Cup and almost certianly not the league match against the Saints on Monday.

He too has a calf problem but the Gunners are only expecting him to return to training next week, so the meeting with Man Utd on 30 January is a possible return date, but certianly no earlier.

With Rob Holding, David Luiz and Gabriel all fit now, Pablo Mari would be unlikely to be in the team fit or not.
