Achraf Hakimi’s agent has played down rumours the right-back could be set to leave Inter Milan in the summer transfer window and insists his client is ‘happy’ under Antonio Conte.

The 22-year-old completed a €40million (£34m) switch from Real Madrid to the San Siro last July following an outstanding two-year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund.

Hakimi quickly settled into life in Italy and has racked up six goals and four assists in an eye-catching debut campaign in Serie A, with the Nerazzurri sitting nine points clear of fierce rivals AC Milan at the top of the table.

The Moroccan’s performances this season have not gone unnoticed among the Premier League’s elite, with Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly lining up big-money moves for his signature.

Thomas Tuchel is keen on Hakimi and can see him thriving in a more advanced role in tandem with Reece James on Chelsea’s right flank.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are said to have identified Hakimi as a possible replacement for Hector Bellerin, who is being heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

But it appears the two London clubs will have to look elsewhere to strengthen, with the full-back clearly enjoying his time at Inter.

‘Hakimi is happy at Inter with Conte, who is an excellent coach,’ his representative, Alejandro Camano, told Radio Kiss Kiss.

‘Conte’s style of play suits Achraf and I think he will end up improving a lot because of this experience with the Nerazzurri.’

Hakimi came close to joining Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli as an 18-year-old back in 2017 and Camano was asked whether a move to Inter’s rivals could be possible in the future.

‘Why not?’ he replied.

‘Napoli are the team of my heart, the greatest player of all time (Diego Maradona) played for them.

‘So we aren’t excluding anything for the future.’
