Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has named Manchester United’s Paul Pogba as the toughest player he’s faced in the Premier League.

Smith Rowe’s emergence under Mikel Arteta this season has been one of the standout positives in Arsenal’s campaign.

The 20-year-old has impressed in Arsenal’s midfield but admits he’s been blown away by the level of competition he has come up against in Pogba and Aston Villa’s talisman Jack Grealish.

When asked to name the best player he’s played against, Smith Rowe told Mail Online: ‘Paul Pogba is definitely up there.

‘So strong, so technically good.

‘Jack Grealish, too. He’s so good, man. I look up to him. The way he is with the ball. The way he scores, assists and creates, he’s so good. Bukayo [Saka] tells me he’s a great guy, too.’

Smith Rowe also insists he was unconcerned by Arsenal’s decision to sign Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

‘I’ve been in this situation before,’

‘At Huddersfield, Andy King came in after me and I feel like I handled it well. We’re all in the same team. We play with and for each other. I stay positive.

‘I just try to focus on myself, play my own game and when I get my opportunity, take it.

‘Luckily I feel like that’s worked. We can play together, too, like we did against Tottenham.’
