Former Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs says he’s ‘extremely excited’ to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami side and cannot wait to get started in Major League Soccer.

The left-back has agreed a deal to move to Florida when his contract with West Bromwich Albion expires at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old joined the Baggies in 2017 after a decade with boyhood club Arsenal, where he became an England international and made ten appearances for his country.

Beckham has been on a recruitment drive since developing Miami as a force in Major League Soccer, signing the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi.

Gibbs is the latest name to move to the south of Florida and the defender admits he’s ‘extremely excited’ to join the club.

‘Extremely excited to be starting the next chapter of my career with Inter Miami CF this Summer!’ wrote Gibbs.

‘I look forward to embracing a new culture and a new challenge in South Florida. I’m really impressed by the vision of the Club, and can’t wait to play in front of The Siege, Southern Legion, and Vice City 1896.

‘In the meantime, my focus and commitment remains with West Brom. I will continue to give 100% for the team, as I have done since I signed, until the end of the season.’

Gibbs’ attention will now switch back to the Baggies’ Premier League surival.

Sam Allardyce’s side are ten points adrift of safety and time is running out for them to pull off a great escape.

Nevertheless, Gibbs says his commitment to the club is 100% until the end of his deal.

‘In the meantime, my focus and commitment remains with West Brom. I will continue to give 100% for the team, as I have done since I signed, until the end of the season,’ said Gibbs.
