Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry has selected his ultimate XI made up of team-mates past and present, including four of his former Gunners colleagues.

The 25-year-old, now at Bayern Munich, joined Arsenal’s academy from Stuttgart back in 2011 but made just 18 first-team appearances for the north London club before moving back to Germany’s top flight with Werder Bremen in 2017.

Gnabry was then recruited by Bayern and has since gone on to help them win two Bundesliga titles as well as the Champions League in 2019.

When selecting his dream XI for DFB TV, the Germany international picked seven fellow Bayern stars alongside four of his former team-mates from the Emirates.

Between the sticks, Gnabry opted for German World Cup winner Manuel Neuer, while Alphonso Davies and Niklas Sule also made the cut from the Bundesliga champions.

Arsenal’s long-serving right-back Hector Bellerin and former Gunners captain Laurent Koscielny formed the rest of the defence.

In midfield, Gnabry chose ex-Arsenal technicians Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil next to Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich.

And up front in the winger’s dream team, more players from the Bavarian club featured, with the prolific Robert Lewandowksi flanked by Kingsley Coman and former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.

Explaining his decisions, Gnabry admitted he chose Bellerin due to his ‘unbelievable speed’ and Koscielny because he is a ‘machine in the tackle’, while Cazorla earned his spot in midfield as he was ‘two-footed and unreal on his left and right’.

On Ozil, who left the Emirates in January to join Fenerbache after seven-and-a-half years at the club, Gnabry said: ‘As a fellow attacker, I really appreciate the qualities he has on the ball.

‘I appreciate his eye for his teammates and how dangerous he is in front of goal.

‘But it’s the through-balls he can play that just do it for me. I’d have him as a No.10.’
