Arsenal are still sweating on the fitness of Martin Odegaard ahead of a crucial week, while Emile Smith Rowe has emerged as a doubt for Sunday’s match against Sheffield United.

The Gunners’ Premier League campaign is effectively over following last week’s 3-0 defeat against Liverpool with the European qualification spots now out of reach.

Arsenal’s hopes of progressing in the Europa League, meanwhile, were severely dented on Thursday when Tomas Holes’ 94th minute header secured a 1-1 draw and a vital away goal ahead of the return leg.

Odegaard, currently on loan from Real Madrid, missed that match with the ankle knock he picked up on international duty with Norway and will continued to be assessed.

Smith Rowe, meanwhile, did feature against the Czech Republic champions, having recovered from the quad injury which forced him to pull out of the England Under-21 squad last month.

Arsenal, however, have confirmed he, too, has picked up an ankle injury and will be monitored ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane.

Kieran Tierney and David Luiz, meanwhile, are both likely to be long-term absentees after both recently sustained knee injuries, but Calum Chambers is back in contention after missing out against Slavia.
