Brighton have joined the race to sign Odsonne Edouard – with Arsenal likely to only to move for the Celtic striker should Alexandre Lacazette leave the club.

Edouard is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Parkhead and will be available for a fee between £15m and £20m this summer, according to The Sun.

The former PSG youngster has been on Arsenal’s radar for a number of seasons but Lacazette’s future at The Emirates could ultimately decide whether the club make a move.

The France international’s contract at the Emirates is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and was thought to be close to leaving last summer.

Leicester are also among the front runners to sign Edouard but the 23-year-old could face a battle for a starting role with Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho at the King Power Stadium.

The promise of a regular starting role could provide a major boost in Brighton’s bid to lure the Frenchman to the south coast.

The Seagulls are reportedly desperate to bring in a new centre forward this summer.

While Danny Welbeck ended the season strongly, Neal Maupay was the club’s top scorer this season with eight, with Aaron Connelly chipping in with just two

Edouard has 22 goals in 40 appearances for Celtic this season having struck 28 in all competitions last season.
