Joe Willock’s run of goalscoring form entered record-equaling territory after he struck for the seventh game in succession for Newcastle against Fulham on Sunday.

The England Under-21 international was sent out on loan by Arsenal in January in order to give him regular Premier League football and the midfielder has played a pivotal role in Newcastle’s successful survival bid.

Willock kept his incredible run going at Craven Cottage, picking up the ball deep inside his own half, driving nearly 60 yards up the pitch and powering a low shot beyond Marek Rodak after a fortuitous bounce fell his way to open the scoring in the 23rd minute.

In the process, Willock became only the second Newcastle player in the Premier League era to score in seven successive matches, matching Shearer’s accomplishment back in 1996.
