Arsenal confirm pre-season Florida Cup alongside Inter Milan and Everton

Arsenal have signed up for a glamorous pre-season trip to America for the Florida Cup in Orlando, where they will take on Inter Milan in their first match.

The other semi-final in the brief friendly tournament is between Everton and Colombian side Millonarios, with the winners facing each other in the final and the losers meeting in the third-place play-off.

All the matches will be held at the Camping World Stadium, Orlando and come as part of a training camp for the Gunners in Florida from 21-28 July.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, said: ‘We’re very pleased to see our pre-season plans ramping up with the announcement of our trip to the United States to take part in the Florida Cup.

‘It will be great for our first-team squad to play two games in front of our US-based fans and the tournament features three good sides that will provide strong opposition. The training and matchday facilities in Orlando will provide a first-class environment for our preparations for next season.’

25 July – Arsenal vs Inter Milan
25 July – Everton vs Millonarios
28 July – Final and Third-place play-off

The Florida Cup comes after matches in Scotland for Arsenal against Hibs (13 July) and Rangers (17 July).

Technical director Edu said: ‘The Florida Cup matches, together with the Orlando training camp, will provide Mikel and the squad with an excellent level of preparation as we focus on next season.

‘This adds to our already announced matches and training preparations in Scotland. We look forward to confirming further plans for our pre-season very soon.’
